Development of Ultra-Lightweight and High Strength Engineered Cementitious Composites

In this study, ultra-lightweight and high strength Engineered Cementitious Composites (ULHS-ECCs) are developed via lightweight filler incorporation matrix composition tailoring. The mechanical, physical, micromechanical properties of the resulting ULHS-ECCs investigated discussed. with a density below 1300 kg/m3, compressive beyond 60 MPa, tensile strain capacity above 1%, thermal conductivity 0.5 w/mK developed. inclusion fillers variation in proportioning ternary binder can lead to change properties, including fracture toughness fiber/matrix interface properties. As result, strain-hardening performance be altered.
